In his speech on August 18,2021, Biden requested everyone get a booster Covid vaccination within 8-months of their second shot. He made no mention that the CDC/FDA approvals were ONLY for ImmunoCompromised (which includes HIV positive, chemotherapy, and hereditary health issues) to get Boosters 28-days after their second Covid Vaccine Shot.
His Booster Announcement brings up 2 important issues:
1) Why aren’t ALL at-risk individuals getting Boosters (elderly, comorbidities, AND immunocompromised)?
2) Why did Biden announce a Booster Program that was not actually being implemented?
Biden issued mandatory vaccination orders for all employees who are paid by the Federal Government (directly and/or indirectly). This includes Health Care workers in Nursing Homes getting Medicare/Medicaid Funds.
He also said the Federal Government was working to find ways to override State Rules that conflict with or don’t implement Federal Rules, such as mandatory masks for school children.

Background: Additional Doses for Immunocompromised Patients
The FDA has amended the Emergency Use Authorization for Pfizer and Moderna’s mRNA vaccines to allow for a third dose to increase the immune response in some immunocompromised patients.
The CDC is recommending people receive a third dose if they are:
* moderately to severely immunocompromised and
* received their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna more than 28 days ago.
Studies indicate that this patient population may benefit from an additional dose to ensure adequate protection against COVID-19. Right now, this additional dose only applies to those moderately to severely immunocompromised patients who received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. The FDA and CDC have not yet approved additional doses for anyone who received the Janssen/J&J vaccine. Further, CDC does not recommend additional doses or booster shots for any other population at this time. We’re awaiting updates on possible boosters for the general public who received mRNA vaccines.
